OK after owning almost all Squeezeboxes including the Transporter and Touch, I went on an extended Squeeze "vacation" for a couple of years.
After hearing that Logitech has finally given up after a few of zero-development, I decided to get a Touch before they disappear completely. Since I am a little long in to the tooth on the latest and greatest on the new media server etc, may I ask a few basic questions: 1. Where is the best source for a comprehensive list of support documents, FAQs, Downloads, betas, list of plugins, manuals etc...? I tried the Wiki and the info seems pretty thin and not updated. 2. After so many years of accumulation, my music library is getting quite bloated with tens of thousands of tracks, most tracks were converted to ALAC when I switched platforms, but some FLACs as well. The initial scan took hours but after it is done I noticed that access is so slow the Touch constantly times out trying to connect to the (Macboook Pro) LMS server. Would using iTunes integration solve this problem? (I noticed that iTunes seems quite happy with a crazy size library without much speed penalty.) 3. Since I have FLAC files as well, can the server be configured to support both iTunes and LMS native for FLAC files? 4. I used to add music files manually from Windoze by going to Radio, enter URL of my NAS directoy directly by entering a UNC something like "FILE://servername/music/artist/albumn". How would I do that from a Mac? I tried "FILE://servername/music/artist/albumn" but it didn't work. By the way I tried the USB 192 tweak and it worked perfectly the first time around! Amazing sound when connecting to my DAC. I think it actually sounds better than the Transporter as far as I can recall. It is so unfortunate that Logitech put in zero effort to develop the audiophile market. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ agentsmith's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1838 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97459 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
