Are the files locally on the server or spread out on remote shares ? As usual "music folder" is much slower than artist or album and it is slow to respond while scanning .
But something must be strange here as your server should be able to do better . You should ,not scan for videos or pictures ,unselect that on the selected music folder also disable the upnp/dlna plugin ?
