Have you changed any of the default settings in LMS > SETTINGS > ADVANCED > FILE TYPES? Have you accidentally turned on bitrate limiting (perhaps causing some issue with the Synology to do something weird with the transcoding to lame). Before anything else I would turn off the player (unplug), reboot the NAS, then restart the player.
