You were absolutely right. Although I didn´t fill out the column album artist something "else" were shown via the extended tags. Beneath "album artist" there was also the tag "Ensemble" which lead to this "problem" of mine. After deleting those tags only the artist "The Brothers Johnson" appears in LMS. I´ll keep this in mind to crosscheck the extended tags in the future. So thanks again for your immediate help.
