The basics are:

1. If you want to use the USB output of the TOUCH to feed a DAC, you can
install Tridoe's EDO applet (installed on the Touch itself, not as a
plugin in LMS. In the Touch, go to the menu item for installing applets,
tick the box on "show all applets" (or something similar to this) and
then you should see Triode's EDO applet for installing.
2. Not all DACs will work. There are a few options to try within EDO.
3. The use of EDO will allow the Touch to output 24/192 (rather than the
native 24/96 maximum). Of course this assumes you have 24/192 files and
the DAC will handle 24/192.
4. The use of EDO will allow 24/192 even if one uses the S/PDIF coax
output of the Touch. One is not required to use the USB output.

and, 5, personal opinion: If you are expecting any sort of night and
day difference (or even *any* difference) from the use of USB out vs
S/PDIF or Optical digital out, you are likely to be disappointed. This
said, the EDO applet is a great thing because (1) it allows 24/192 file
playback and (2) there are folks with DACs that *only* have USB input
and thus can't be used with the Touch otherwise.
