It's recommended by a vocal hand full of users. And it's asking for trouble. Trust your ears, not what _some_ say.
FWIW: streaming FLAC from online sources comes with certain limitations as has been stated in these forums before, too. Searching within such a track being one example. Inability to transcode seems to be another one.
Turn the flac -> wav transcoding off. I'm sure you prefer sound over silence?
