All this can be blown away by two other issues .

Which version/master is it , the major factor in SQ . There are some
masters of some works considered much better than other version , this
completely overwhelms delivery format .

The streaming service may not always use best practice in lossy encoding
and/or that particular file can be a lemon,( encoded 15 years ago with
xing by the record company :) ) .
So sometimes spotifys 320k is not always 320k and if they are maybe not
as well done as if you used the best encoders of today .


Bonus Q what if a streaming service got mp3's from some record company
in their infancy lossy to lossy encoding ? or a wav file originally done
from mp3 :/
