As I understand it, flac has compression rates from 0 to 9. Uncompressed
flac (0) has almost no compression, but has flac headers etc, file sizes
being close to wav (or so I read).

As to 'native', if you mean 'unprocessed' on LMS, then no, since I use
c-3po.  But I will try without.

LMS plugin UPnP/DLNA Bridge to MF M1 CLiC (A308CR amp & ESLs) & Marantz

Squeezelite to Meridian USB Explorer DAC to PC speakers/headphones.  
Wireless Xubuntu 18.04 laptop firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with
Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver.
