I had very similar symptoms, with a touch, a Netgear Orbi, with disconnects every day or two. I tried a cheaper version of the new adaptor approach here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005OIB6XI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It hooked up well (but read the directions carefully). But that still dropped that evening. The effor from the touch indicated that the problem was obtaining a Dynamic address, so I changed to a static address on the router, and for 3 days+, it has been stable. Of course, YMMV.
