You might be interested in knowing that such a service already exists
in India. It is being run by a Chandigarh based company and name of
this service is Dak India [1]. It also has a "reverse" serivce called
ScanDak or something like that. In this, the normal letter of the
person wishing to send you a mail will be scanned and the scan be
e-mailed to you. yep, it's free. :)
