I agree, this has happened more often than it should. Believe it or not, I
often DO ask people to move to private e-mail, take the discussion offline
etc. I encounter the problem on this list much more than other lists I manage,
and I've often wondered why this is the case. I think that in part there's a
language/culture barrier that invites misunderstandings like this, I'm not sure
- it's such a global project . . .

Well, like it or not the running of a tpc.int cell does have quite a bit of
relevance to the project ;-) What would you actually like to see on this list?

There is an operators mailing list. It's not advertised widely (by necessity),
and sometimes our operators need to be educated about its existence now and
again. Mr. Marshoud's query should probably have been on that list, but it's
a much smaller forum and perhaps he felt he needed a larger (although less
experienced) audience.
