I really don't like this UI. I think it is far more cluttered, and offers no real benefit for it. Having to switch to "edit mode" will make changing tickets take one click/page load longer, which is a real killer to me. We should be striving to make that process less obtrusive, not more so IMO. One thing you had mentioned earlier is that you sometimes have to scroll a lot between the edit area and the ticket box.
