That's a really great idea, actually. An official Trac turnkey solution, Trac+ or something, with some of the features and plugins that people want most provided by default, and maintained alongside the basic Trac. Maybe such a thing could stave off any fork efforts. It could even use the same code base, and just be deployed via a different setup.py argument or something. I'm not sure if that's exactly what you had in mind, but it would make for a relatively painless solution for now...
