I put a very simple and probably naive patch that is essentially a
verbose port of what AutoQuery does currently.  See:

Please let me know if this is sufficient or if you want me to do any
clean up.  Also, should I ticket this on t.e.o.?
(and of course, the patcher is welcome to make any improvements
necessary to my code)
