However, to provide a certain level of protection against spam, the first post of a person who is not subscribed to the list is held back for moderation. Upon approval of the post the senders e-mail address gets whitelisted to prevent further moderation. This procedure it's a trade-off between protecting the list against spam and making posting to the list as painless as possible, and it works fine for other lists that I maintain (including Linux kernel development related lists, such as ath5k-devel and ath9k-devel). The list is about to be registered over at gmane.org. This adds web-based, searchable list archives in various formats, a news gateway and also provides a webinterface to post to the list.
