FWIW, I dislike Google groups (sorry!).  I have no love of mailman either, 
but...I guess I have a weak preference for it. The one useful feature I would 
like is a permalink in each message.  I can't count the time I've spent trying 
to find a permalink to messages I have in my inbox, let alone the annoyance of 
going to a browser then searching for the message that I already have and 
finding a permalink that way.  Awful.  Sorry for the pointless rant.

I wish there was decent mailing list software out there.  Then ... Trac + 
mailing lists!  A man can dream, can't he?
