Well, I can't really see any "bad mouthing Trac" there, only deserved criticisms about the many dependencies, which is something we always acknowledged and try to improve upon. I'm even surprised the article doesn't talk about the Clearsilver and pysqlite dependencies, maybe he managed to install them without a hitch ... that has not always been that easy ;) With 0.10, the strong dependency on Subversion has been removed, and also since very recently, there are now pre-built Python 2.4 bindings for Subversion 1.4.0. In the next release, the dependency on Clearsilver will be lifted too, as we'll use Genshi instead [1]. Also, pysqlitte is now integral part of Python 2.5, so that will make one less dependency in the future. Last but not least, like I've just seen Manuzhai pointed out, on Windows it's really worth to give a shot to tracd instead of the whole apache + mod_python thing (I would bet it's even faster, in any case I'm interested in the numbers if someone has made a comparison). -- Christian [1] - http://genshi.edgewall.org --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Trac Users" group.
