ya I wish all radios had the power supply tho the mini-din. that would be great

Unfortunately, no.
There is no supply voltage on any of the 6-pin mini-din connections. 

I wished for the same thing on my FT-8900, but that data connector is an 
industry standard, and the standard does not include supplying Vcc+ to power 
external equipment.
