Now you have the right Tramp version. The new error you show has been found in Emacs 24.0.50, indeed. According to the ChangeLog, it was fixed on 2010-10-19. Please upgrade, either Emacs, or Tramp (which has meanwhile version 2.2.0-pre in its repository).
