In the 835 Implementation Guide the LX segment includes notes on how to format. Our interpretation is that this segment allows sorting to occur by provider. The IG notes include directions for how Medicare Part A & Medicare Part B LX segments should be created. The formatting includes breaking by fiscal year and type of bill summary for Part A. Part B formatting is based on whether the claims are assigned or unassigned.
My question is whether payers who process Medicare Supplement claims are subject to the formatting requirement notes for Medicare Part A & B? Kara L.
