I remember a book I read and it said that human love says "I love because of" and Gods love says "I love in spite of"!!

I dont quite agree that to love people its best to not get too close... maybe to an extent I would agree with not getting too familiar with the person but i think getting close is important when it comes to loving. Its easy to love the lovable but I think what God desires is for us to take it a step further and love the unlovable. Love is a powerful force like Jethro said.. love can bring down walls of hatred and distrust.. thats why the word of God says if your enemy is thirsty give him a drink, if he's hungry feed him.. coz by doing so in love you counter all the negative forces. In today's bible reading (Mark 12) the Scribe asked Jesus about the greatest commandments - Loving God and loving your neighbours (His people). I believe its not possible to love one and not the other. Our challenge in our walk of faith is to learn how to love like God loves... think about that for a sec... ask yourself.. do you really love the way God loves.. He didnt hesitate for a second to come to our rescue despite all the sin and mess, all our failures and imperfections.. we arent always the easiest of people to love.. but God still loves us.. So what is LOVE really? Praying for deliverance, salvation, peace etc for people who mock is love before God, they dont have to know about it, to God its an act of Love.
