very true Simba the bible aslo says humility precedes honour. Pride and an ego centric attitudes are often to blame in most human conflicts. When one looses their humility they become thier own authority, they dont take advice or correction from anyone and they will find ways of forcing thier own views on everyone.
The major sin that Lucifer committed was pride giving himself a seat he had not offered. He convinced himself that he should be like the Most High and should take his throne above and this ultimately led to his dishonour as he was expelled from heaven. I have also observed that as christians we sometimes fail to identify pride in our actions when we even mistake for humilty. Some call it reverse pride, where one fails to do something good for another person simply because they are either too shy or too scared for what ever reason. To me that indicates an element of self preservation at the expense of other simply put - lack of love. Ed Cole (paraphrased) defines loves as getting the best for another at the expense of self.
