After spending several years administering both wu-imap (which, if you're placing mailboxes in the home directory, I assume you'll be using that or possibly dovecot) and cyrus imap, I would strongly recommend going with cyrus. The downside for you is that it doesn't store the mailboxes in the home directory. The huge upside, however, is that it has much, much, much, much, much, much! better performance and will generally be a much more stable system.
Just out of curiosity, Tanner, is that a two-way or three way comparison? I did a migration some time ago from UW-IMAP to Dovecot, primarily for performance reasons. I'm storing the mail in maildir format (as opposed to mbox when I was running UW), using a virtual mailbox format (not in homedirs). I cyrus better than dovecot? If so how. Not that my home setup is stressing things very much. -- Rick DeNatale IPMS/USA Region 12 Coordinator http://ipmsr12.denhaven2.com/ Visit the Project Mercury Wiki Site http://www.mercuryspacecraft.com/ -- TriLUG mailing list : http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ : http://trilug.org/faq/ TriLUG Member Services FAQ : http://members.trilug.org/services_faq/
