Senior RedHat/Linux Systems Administrator experienced in designing, building, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Windows and RedHat Linux server environments. The Senior RedHat/Linux Systems Administrator will be responsible for configuration and management of Linux servers in a heterogeneous environment as well as the maintenance and administration of the Oracle RAC solution. Work with the DBA group, Network Infrastructure Team and Information Security Group for software deployments to production environment. The position requires a responsible, team oriented, well organized individual with strong communications skills and the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects while adapting quickly to rapidly changing priorities.



Requirements:



Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT)



5-8 years Linux systems administration in complex multiple OS networks

4-6 years working in environments with Oracle / MSSQL

5-8 years in relevant 24x7 highly available, on-call environments



Candidate must possess strong computer ethics, as this position will be dealing with company confidential data.

Knowledge of architectural differences between RAC and OPS.

Demonstrated ability to install and configure RedHat Enterprise Linux, understand limitations of hardware, configure networking and file systems, configure the X Window System; configure security, set up common network (IP) services, carry out diagnostics and troubleshooting, and perform senior Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration including DR (Disaster Recovery) and backup.



Internet applications and protocols HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SSL, LAN/WAN fundamentals and internetworking with TCP/IP.

Skills and knowledge to harden computers against both internal and external attacks while providing in-depth analysis of the ever-changing threat models as they pertain to Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Shell and Perl scripting.

TCP/IP networking experience.

Java and Java Script.

Ability to work and multitask in heterogeneous environments including Linux and Windows servers.

Understanding of Windows AD/windows server technology.

Understanding of Pix firewalls/IP tables / PF & IPSec VPN.

Able to work and contribute to a team environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required to be flexible, detail oriented and organized with the ability to multitask and work independently.



Highly Desirable:

Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

Red Hat Certified Security Specialist (RHCSS)

Understanding of systems development lifecycle process

NFS clustering

Network monitoring systems (HP OpenView, OpenNMS)

LAMP
