I was mistaken re: the location of the preferences for the screen reader. It should be on: system->preferences->personal->preferences->accessibility. In the combo box, the list should include the screen reader and the magnifier, but I only notice the on-screen keyboard. In this page, user is supposed to select these tools and, for each, indicate whether to run it automatically at start. In Trisquel 7, I forget how it is supposed to look; can boot up and see what I find. Trisquel 7 should be using the GNOME 3 screen magnifier; if so, it might behave differently from that of T 8. Before I forget, Does the on-screen keyboard work in Trisquel 7 or 8?
