I can imagine a lot of people would pay for software if it came with support
as well. Same for businesses (nearly all of Red Hat's OS is free, yet they
are a $1 billion business).

That's what OpenPGP signatures are for! :-) By default Trisquel only installs
software that is digitally signed by Ruben.
