This forum/mailing list has some rules[1], by posting on the forum/mailing list
we agree to respect them. The fact that the forum is loosely moderated
(e.g. threads are very rarely closed and people are never banned) is not a
justification for breaking the rules.

If one does not like the rules, (s)he can speak up on a *separate thread*, gather
some agreement and contact the administrators explaining what is wrong, why,
and proposing a change (without expecting that the change will be accepted). If
one is still not happy, there is nothing that forces her/him to stay.

This forum/mailing list is supposed to be a *technical* one, so we really should limit ourselves to posting technical questions. In this case, the OP asked for
advice about installing Flash and he's been advised to use various libre
solutions. There are only two posts from the OP here, all the rest is arguing
about libre vs nonfree software that is certainly out of the scope of
installing Flash.

It has been proposed to open a dedicated forum for more general topics (e.g.
licenses, nonfree software), but as far as I can see the only newish forum is
the troll hole[2].

There are some 75 replies to this thread and most of them (including this one)
are *not* relevant to the OP's problem.

I have to say that this happens over and over in this forum/mailing list and
it's sad to see it.

Regards,
