I was able to install Trisquel, over-writing Mac OS X, and I haven't had any  
problems.

I notice that your computer has a NVIDIA Graphics card; 3D Hardware  
acceleration may not work properly because NVIDIA has not released  
free-as-in-freedom firmware, and only Free Software is included in Trisquel.
