Fear of radiation is highly overblown. Radiation is something that has always existed in nature and something that you come into contact with every day. In fact, radiation is something that life depends on; light and heat are radiation. Even ultra-violet radiation is necessary for us in small amounts, and this is the reason some people who are not albino have light-colored skin; less pigment makes absorbing ultraviolet light for the purpose of producing Vitamin D easier at the cost of more easily suffering negative effects (sunburns, cancer) from too much exposure to it.

What matters is what kind of radiation it is, and how much.

There has been no strong evidence for any significant correlation between cellular phones, or any wireless signal for that matter, and any form of cancer. The only correlation seen is that men who keep cell phones in the pockets of their trousers have a reduced sperm count. Ergo, if there is *any* causal link, it is much too small to worry about. Avoiding cell phones for this reason is like refusing to fly on planes because you're exposed to radiation that way.

Refusing to go outside because you fear skin cancer would actually be more sensible, because over-exposure to the sun has been documented to cause a significantly greater risk of cancer, but even that is incredibly silly (and the reason if obvious). But cell phones get a special place in people's minds for some reason.
