I think your concerns are valid, but I'd like to reassure you on two fronts.
1) nouveau is deblobbing, not blobbing up. that is unlikely to change.2) the only things in userland that will depend on non-free libraries are non-free programs. most FLOSS projects have a committment to their ideals.
