I did as you suggested Magic Banana and entered an 'lspci' command in a
terminal session. It gave me a long list of hardware specs. Unfortunately, I
have no way of bringing that list into the laptop pc I'm currently typing
this forum reply on. I see in the list it goes line by line listing different
hardware controllers and whatnot. One of the listings shows an Ethernet
controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express
Fast Ethernet controller (rev 05)
In the line just below this one it lists: Network controller: Broadcom
Corporation BCM43142 802.11b/g/n (rev 01)
There's some other things as well but I didn't want to copy the entire list
over line by line manually by hand. Is there a particular item in the list I
should look for in the list that I didn't include above?
