well, I have expressed a similar opinion many times before here in the forum. I remember when you could get a thinkpad (x60 i believe) from gluglug at 100€ or so. Good times, should have gotten one back then. That being said, I understand that this project is hard to maintain and sustain, so I believe that money has to come from somewhere. HOWEVER, quantumgravity is right when he says that a necessity should not be sold for a too much high price when it is so needed.

I believe Francis helps people a lot to install on their own devices, but these are hard to get these days, even outside the free community. So, I think the idea of getting money somewhere (donations etc) so the computers can be sold cheaper is essential.

I hope Francis will get things running at getting doantions and support from other organizations (FSF, EFF, Tor Project, etc) and lower the prices to acceptable prices. I don't think he is doing it "for malicious reasons", but whatever reasons he might have, it's just not the right way to do things. And it has to change.
