There is some truth that we may get source code for an 802.11ac chipset. I wouldn't hold my breath that it'll happen any time soon. It took years to get the code for the last 802.11n chip and it's going to be more challenging this time around.

As far as 802.11n dual-band is concerned the main chipsets that we're building off are discontinued. It's unlikely we'll be able to get more adapters manufactured. We tried stocking up, but insufficient resources limits how much stock and how long these things can continue to be purchased beyond the general-market availability time period. This is why it's so important that people support the work we're doing. When we get support and people don't just go elsewhere it helps to provide us with the resources we need to pull these sorts of projects off (even if it takes a while). Right now we're stuck. Not enough money and not enough time. What is happening is happening very slowly.
