Hmm, maybe you should try making a new partition table with GNU parted  
instead of gparted. This can be done with parted /dev/sdX where X is the  
letter of your HDD. And then typing mklabel gpt. Also try installing with a  
netinstall image after that.

Please let me know if this helped at all, I don't really know what would  
cause such error messages.
