I got an answer from the free software foundation brushing me off. To me a brush off email is, if the email does not answer questions or does not say why questions are not answered. Instead you get some commonplace remarks.

I wrote Snowden an email asking him to get a frontrunner for an email campaign towards amd. I did not believe he would answer and he did not. His twitter https://mobile.twitter.com/Snowden/status/837367956229206016 likely had little impact although Snowden has 3 million followers. Had Snowden's twitter contained a link to a coordinated campaign, describing the matter and displaying instructions how and what to write amd, it could have been an effective approach.
