Most times you are not going to display private email communication, because
any writing person has a right to get privacy.
I will display the email communication, because fsf wrote nothing significant
and I think my writing can be displayed to others.
I have redacted names. I wrote [email protected]. Due to the size of fsf's
staff, you should be able to get to know, who wrote me the answer.
If I write companies, I know I will get defensive answers, if they do not
want to or cannot answer.
Fsf should not act that way. Fsf should be better and more direct. I would
have accepted an answer saying the likes of your suggestion is poor, we do
not have time, we have other priorities, we have already tried what you
suggest.
I also would have accepted an email telling me not to write them anymore, if
fsf told me why.
Fsf chose the worst answer, saying you should not have written us at all.
I think Snowden might have answered, had fsf written him an email. Had he
agreed to be part of a campaign, he would have displayed a campaign link on
his twitter having more than 3 million followers.

If amd says it is investigating the possibility of providing a libre software
computer, it could be a scam. In order to get attention from the libre
software segment people for their products. And with no intention of actually
doing it. For amd it means free coverage. If a scam it could later backfire
for amd.
At the same time would actors like fsf, fsfe, eff, ubuntu, debian and linux
forums, known proponents of libre software ask people to email amd telling
them they should get a libre software computer on sale and the number of
emails would reach several hundred thousand, it might have some effect. Make
your own additions to the list.
A well organized campaign would require every website in question to display
a call for writing amd an email.
My point is, there is no such coordinated framework that could execute this
kind of campaign?
What is fsf's comment on this? I should think a campaign time frame should be
about 3 months.
Can you initiate a coordination of a campaign? I can start writing relevant
forums. I am not going to if I do not get an endorsement from fsf.
In general libre software organizations should have a plan ready for
executing this kind of campaign. By that being prepared to execute it toward
a manufacturer, should it be deemed fruitful.
If you cannot answer within days, then do not answer.

Did you send me an email brushing me off?
Instead you should tell if you do not have the resources to answer adequately
or find my suggestion unemployable. I will think no less of you because of
that.
Else what I suggest is a coordinated email campaign directed at amd. Like the
campaigns you can initiate on petition white house or when a campaign gets
started against a senator or member of congress or your

A widget should be created and placed on every relevant website, twitter and
facebook stream, etc.
The widget should display fsf's endorsement about the campaign and a link to
a website with further pieces of information and instructions on how to
contact amd.
I will look into forming a team, that can provide the software for the
campaign.
Fsf does not have to do anything more than approve the campaign and the use
of fsf's name.
Getting fsf's approval about the campaign is important. Getting Snowden to
participate in the campaign would be very beneficial. That is why I wrote
Snowden an email, asking him to endorse an amd campaign. I have not gotten an
answer and do not expect to get one from him.
If fsf wrote Snowden an email, suggesting he should participate in a campaign
directed at amd, there is a moderate probability he would respond.
