youtube-dl is great. There's a GUI for it too, https://mrs0m30n3.github.io/youtube-dl-gui/
though I haven't tried it. You might also look into gtk-youtube-viewer, https://github.com/trizen/youtube-viewer which works well for searching, browsing, and streaming.
