Debian 10's default kernel is 4.19, whereas Trisquel 8's is 4.4. It's possible that your hardware is better supported by the newer kernel. Trisquel's repository has a 4.15 kernel you could try, and you can add jxself's[1] repository to install 4.19. [1] https://jxself.org/linux-libre/
