No, the Firmware isn't free, it also didnt Work with trisquel 8. I Never used  
the WLAN Card since I installed trisquel.
But a stucked cpu and Unlimited waiting over and ob er again is Not fine.  
About Every 22 seconds the Message Appears that the firmware is Not included.  
And a prompt Never appears..
