In TROM the basic structure of a game is that of

Postulate versus counter Postulate

Any such game when it is for an important goal will include a decline in the
tone scale of the participants so that there is enturbulated emotion in the
middle of the game.

If you have ever been sued or robbed or threatened by a bully you have
experienced exactly what I am talking about here.

For instance... you are at the beach and a bully comes by and kicks sand on
you. He sneeringly laughs with that look that dares you to get up and do
something about his boorish behavior. This is postulate versus counter
postulate with antagonism, anger, fear, grief and apathy.

Now the interesting thing I want to point out here is that the "counter
postulate" of the other guy is only apparently HIS postulate. I am finding
that in most cases it is a counter postulate to my postulate but I am the
one generating the counter postulate.

Here is an example. I am sitting in a waiting room near a window. I see a
co-worker walking by outside the window and I smile and wave at him. To my
amazement he does not respond in any way. Not even looking at me and
nodding his head. I immediately get irate. What a jerk, what could have
changed his attitude, as he had been friendly the last time I saw him. I
immediately have my postulate to be friendly opposed by his postulate to
treat me with contempt. In serious anger at his behavior I decide to
upbraid this unfriendly behavior by confronting the jerk.
I rush outside, which takes me by the same window I had just been looking
out of only to see that it has a mirror finish on the outside. The fellow
could not see me and had no idea I was on the other side of the window.
Therefore the whole game existed in my head. The postulate versus counter
postulate and misemotion were entirely mine and mine alone to resolve.

Keep on TROMming

Pete
