Thanks for explaining. It makes sense now.
I guess my expectation was up arrow would go "60 seconds or as far as it can go".
Thus "back too far" would beep politely, then restart the stream.
And "forward too far" would stop, then beep.
This way you don't lose any audio because you can't hear it over a beep.
