I never thought about that.  I wonder if it's possible with the
SMIL renderer included with RealPlayer.  It's been well over a year
since I've done any work on TRPlayer, so I've probably forgotten
much about the RealSystem SDK.  And I'm involved with a much larger
project now, so if someone else wants to implement this or other
features in TRPlayer, I'd appreciate it.

They're threads, and RealPlayer is the one responsible for spawning
them.  I know one thread is used to get input from the network and
one is used for audio output, but I don't know about the others.
TRPlayer itself does all of its work in the main thread.

Have you tried passing the -n option to trplayer when you run it
in the background?
