john: In addition to this observation,  Paul did not leave behind the practice of Old Covenant Law.
Let's not forget that he went thru temple purification (Acts 21).

jt: As I pointed out in a response to David, Paul was advised to go to the temple that time with
the four men who had taken a vow to keep the zealous Jews from making a scene. This same
man upbraided the Galatians, asking who had bewitched them with another gospel for adhering
to Jewish legalisms so please don't be deceived about this. It's not Jesus + the law of Moses.

Actually, Paul's actions prove that nothing is as important as the workings of the gospel  ----
I did not say "preaching of the gospel" nor did I say "practice of the gospel."   The gospel of
scripture (as I view scripture  --  my interpretation is just as inspired as anyone's, right?)

jt: I don't know, depends what you say, I'll have to be Berean about it and check it out.

is the death, burial, resurrection and continued efficiency of the blow of the blood of the Lamb.
It means salvation for the entire world

jt: Potentially the entire world - realistically for whosoever will come God's way.

and it means salvation apart from obedience to God's "law"  (biblical references can be given
in spades upon demand.)

jt: Are you referring to God's moral law or the Levitical law here?

Paul could go to the temple because he did not believe that form was the primary content
of faith.

jt: He went for expediency and to keep the peace.

In fact, the closing verses of Romans 14 finds Paul instructing the doctrinally wrong brother
(the vegetarian) not to violate his faith !!!

jt: Yes but I don't know that being vegetarian is doctrinally wrong, it's a matter of personal
conscience.
