Izzy: I did mean to say that YOU or, for that matter, anyone on TT misrepresents God or His Gospel. You write well, You've written a book. What I mean is this:The God of Whom you speak and the Gospel you preach is not identical with every other believer's God/Gospel. Surely you've moved in Christian circles where you've found this to be the case!? That's all folks. Lance

Lance, I still have no idea what you mean.  How did I misrepresent God/gospel? Izzy

Izzy: Perry, while apparently agreeing with the thrust of what was said, asked of me:why "sadly".

I tend to think in terms of: The Nature of God & The Nature of God's Gospel. I hear variations on these almost daily in the store. Also, on the radio,on lectures to which I listen daily, this forum and on and on...

What are the implications of having, to some little or great degree, misrepresented one or both of the above? Does it, in fact, matter? To whom?

It was this sort of thing to which I had been referring.

 Lance

Lance, I don’t understand your answer.  I was asking you, since you commented that , Sadly, this is an AMERICANIZED understanding of Christianity. Why should I ask Perry about your response? Izzy

Izzy: Why not ask the American moderator of TT? Please read my later post to David Miller as I extend and deepen my critique.Lance

Lance, What is Americanized about honoring the Lord one day/week? Or about having the freedom to pray at school? Or having laws against immorality like sodomy and abortion? Izzy

Izzy: Sadly, this is an AMERICANIZED understanding of Christianity. However, if it makes ya feel more convinced about how things have gone down hill then more power to ya.This is "old people talk". When I was your age.... Lance

G, You’ll have the read the documents written by our founding fathers if you want instances.  Also, do you remember when you couldn’t go to the store or buy alcohol on Sundays, for instance? Or when we prayed at school?  Or when sodomy was against the law? I don’t think you’re too much of a youngster to remember those days. J Izzy
