That, it seems to me, is the benefit of Community................the exchange of the bad for the good, especially in the Community of the Divine. Faith unto faith.
You know, Bill, this is not exactly right. It is not the exchange of the bad for the good but the exchange of life, itself. I am my brother, in so many ways. I am my Lord for exactly the same reasons ----------------- association, intimacy, respect, profound respect -- alll cause me to want to like someone else.
