DAVEH: Of course Izzy is right on this. I fully understand the
disbelief of LDS theology by TTers. I also realize that the things I
believe may seem quite unusual, to say the least, to most TTers. Nor do
I expect any TTers to believe as I do, excepting other LDS folks at the
times they are subscribed to TT.
I must say that there are some things I've assumed Protestants
believe, but I've found to the contrary due to what I've learned on TT.
That is one of the things I enjoy about TT....it gives me a truly
different perspective on Protestantism than what I had expected due to
hearing about it from LDS biased people.
So.......I guess it surprises me that while I understand your
reluctance to accept those things I believe, I am (or was) somewhat
perplexed to find some TTers have a difficult time with a Mormon in
their midst. I'm not quite sure why they perceive the threat to be so
dangerous, even when some like Perry and Dean have taken the effort to
explain their fears. If I were trying to get any TTers alone in a room
and horsewhip them into submission, that would be one thing. But I've
tried to be as polite and careful about influencing others' beliefs here
as possible. Perhaps some don't feel that way, but that's how I view it.
If any TTers want to continue believing that which they now
believe....that's OK with me, and I will respect your desire to believe
contrary to me. But it sure does seem to stir up controversy when the
shoe is on the other foot. I've plainly made my intentions to remain
LDS common knowledge. So, why is anybody surprised that I do not
readily adopt doctrines I find contrary to what I know is correct?
