b5 will pretty much be the final form for the 1.0 release, but we won't release a 1.0 until: -> the reactor is working correctly -> the final form of the POM is finalized -> the repository structure is finalized -> the plugin structure is finalized -> all of the above are documented If I had to guess I would say 3-4 more betas after the b5 release. I'm not concerned about attaining 1.0 status as making sure that every is stable and that we can deliver on what we are promising Maven will be capable of. Maven is gaining stream without a whole lot of pushing.
