+1000 :) Ease of use is definitely important. If I compare MacOS X to Windows, they both have about the same functionality, but in OS X everything seems to be more intuitive and easier to explain to a user. That's what I want to aim for too! But feature wise, has the developer group marked the boundaries on how far they want to go for a 1.0 release? I ask this because more than once I have seen a release of an open source project postponed because "we'll add this feature quickly before the release". Off they are again for a fair amount of time.
