The code has <x:set var="..." value="..." />

The jelly:xml documentation doesn't have value, and this produces an error at the present when using xdoc.
it only lists select="..." and sort="...".

I have to find out what value used to mean.

Anything to help in the with the xdoc plugin would be great. This is
certainly one of the more brittle areas after the refactoring as dvsl
and texen were taken out completely and replaced with JSL and the
velocity tag. Both Dion and I are very familiar with the xdoc plugin so
as fast as you throw patches at us I'm sure they will be applied.

The JUnit report is also another mess, as you can see by yourself
looking at the report generated.
Ok, I'll start with fixing these. I'll need to brush up on my XSLT for starters.

James was the one that introduced the x:set code some time back... was it always broken, or has jelly:xml recently changed?

I use x:set and I've found it to work in most cases. I know of few
inconsistencies but for the most part it works. I haven't had time to
find the problems so I've worked around them. If you pinpoint the parts
that you find don't work I'll help you fix them.
