Melanie, I may (easily) be wrong but I think that the ldap security service was never fully completed. I would guess that the best approach would be to write manager implementations UserManager, RoleManager, etc. for the fulcrum security service entities which use openldap as the backing store and then follow the pattern that Michael Jones used to integrate fulcrum security into Zebra-Antelope.
